Live Blogging - Kid Nation Style

I know, I know, this is a Grey's Anatomy blog, but, seriously, Kid Nation has a little Meredith in training in Taylor, and all the previews show Taylor crying quite a bit, and a possible ouster of her, so, we have to watch.

I refuse, out of spite, to type in anything about the recap, it is just a way to waste time before the show actually starts, and allows them to get on or two commercials on in place of actual show. I hate that, so, there was a recap, and, it sucked. Other than a whole new town council, made up of the four oldest kids in town.

7:01 pm, we get the episode title, "I Just LIke The Recess Part." No doubt referring to the fact that today, we get the kids in school, because, after all, they are supposed to be at a camp, not filming a television show under New Mexico law.

7:03 pm, The Kids starts killing chickens again, 10 of them, for one big feast. The chicken killing is great, and our girl Taylor is mad that they told her to shut up, even though she has told people to shut up for what seems like at least 100 times this season. The older boys try to get the chickens, the younger girls become human shields, and the COMMERCIALS!

7:08 pm, we are back from commercial, and Sophia, our 14 year old girl, who won a gold star in week 1, and would NEVER win one now, figures out the solution. Let the kids pick which 10 chickens would die. So, Taylor gets to save the brown chickens that she likes, and 10 others go to the slaughterhouse, all The Jungle style. Taylor saves chickens by killing others great.

7:10 pm, the nerdy kids talk about the numbers of pi, and life on mars, pretty much the shit I talk about every day, yeah, I was a nerd.

7:12 pm, the new council goes to find their directions from the producers, i.e. the town journal, and find out they should start a school in Bonanza City, and in a rare smart move, the kids figure out that the showdowns, where they can get prizes for their town, usually have to do with their task, so, they want to use school to get ahead. Of course, some kids, like our girl Taylor, are totally against learning, or doing anything, that could help her town.

7:14 pm, the different teams break off to learn everything, and Sophia, who seems to be gunning for a second gold star, came up with an ingenious way of learning the crap in the books, ACTING it out. Much like these kids are teaching us about ourselves by ACTING it out, oh, wait, it is reality t.v., never mind, no young actors here. Oh, and Taylor, still not doing shit, she is playing with her brown chickens, and the town council tells her they are pulling her reward, and she is to the point of tears.

Now, as an aside, I have concerns about Taylor. She does seem a bit spoiled, and she was on the town council on Day 1, and got voted out, so, I can see her resenting them. But man, she might really break down this week, and I do not think that would be good. Anyway, commercial break, again.

7:19 pm, he kids are all running to the showdown, which, in an amazing twist, has to do with the study materials. Now, in these showdowns, the kids compete to get easy jobs for nickels ( I am not kidding) and if all the districts get it done, with a lot of ammo left, they get a big town reward.

Pop Quiz Results: After the longest, most horrible sling shot use ever, the teams finished in the following order:
Green got upper class
Blue got merchants
Yellow got cooks
Red got laborers

But god, it took forever, and at one point, they actually stopped showing us the questions, because they were so boring, silly, and the kids would just miss and miss and miss.

7:29 pm, the kids poor all their ammo in a jar to see if it fills it up, to get the big reward. They finally got one, and it was a choice, between books for a library, OR a video aracrd with Dance Dance Revolution, Hockey, pool, I mean hell. This is such an easy choice, especially since there are only 8 days left, so, arcade wins out, and the kids will be playing DDR for a LONG time.

7:32 pm, Taylor is told VERY clearly, that she does not get to use the arcade at all, and she threatens to hit people. I really am conflicted about her, she is sort of a brat at times, but I don't think she should have gotten denied arcade priviledges. Then, of course, commercial.

7:36 pm, the kids remind Taylor , again, that she doesn't get to go to the arcade. Meanwhile, Sophia, for some reason, is going to build a library in a tent, rather than actually play in the arcade.

7:39 pm, Red Team revolt! rather than do their jobs, two of them decide to go play in the arcade, and the red team leader looks sort of weak, as he is not getting listened to, at all.

7:41 pm, Zach attempts to get Taylor on his side, for, apparently, a yellow team coup attempt that may happen later. But, Taylor, god bless her, starts doing dishes, a lot of dishes, and works, actually does real work, for hours at a time, and I guess she did it all day, and she got to go to the arcade, escorted by the older boys.

Good news, Taylor learned to work, and the kids go their dishes done, bad news, she may get the gold star, and that would suck.

7:46 pm, Sophia, who is NOT a cook this week, rails on the Yellow team for not cooking breakfast, but instead is gambling on pool in the arcade. Oh we got trouble, right here in Bonanza City, it begins with T that rhymes with P that stands for POOL! Then Commercial!

I have to say, I am not surprised by the kids all living in the arcade. You have 36 8-14 year olds, who, for 32 days, have had nothing to do. Then, they get a FREE arcade, honestly, what did you think was going to happen? They wouldn't play free DDR? Hell, I am 28 years old, and I would LOVE free DDR. Speaking of, I may break out my game cube, and play some tonight.......

7:50 pm, town meeting, without first showing us who is in gold star consideration, so this could be a big shock. The Council decides that they are going to only allow the arcade if all the dishes and work are done first, and they made Sophia the mistress of enforcement. That will be great.

7:52 pm, the $20,000 gold star is up for grabs, and the winner is Hunter, from the red team. I don't really know much about him, so I don't know if this is good or not. Apparently he is a hard worker, so, I guess that is good.

7:55 pm, as we fade to black, we get to see a red team member sneak in, and play DDR one last time before the rules get set into place.

Pretty lame episode, really nothing happened.

SAD.

Visually Stunning, and remarkably strong.

The symbolism and all in all amazingness of last night's Grey's was unreal.

First off, in Bitch watch, Meredith was,in no way, Bitchy last night. This was sad, as I think she is at her best when she is at her most terrible. I could make a point about how she acted on the way to the meeting with Dr. Sloan, but, I think it was more annoyed than Bitchy, so, I won't do that.

Lexie left a lot to be desired this week. I mean, why is this a common plot device in t.v.? Girl likes boy, other girl shows up, says she likes boy, first girl, without talking to boy first, gets pissed and goes and talks to Seth Green about it. Actually, I think this exact plot happened in Buffy, but I am not sure.

Also, I am not sure Lexie has a right to be that mad, you don't get to pull the "I'm not talking to you card" then , get pissed about random Jane Doe who shows up and claims she is with Kerev.

Kerev, I mean, he could have saved his ass, briefly, by going and explaining to Lexie that random girl was here, and talking to her about it, a bit, but he didn't, so, that was a dumb choice.

Ok, relationship stuff aside, again, great episode for Dr. Bailey. She had to deal with a white supremacist, who may not still be one, but whatever. People can change, which is fine, but, I want to know where a person is at in their life when they get such a horrible tattoo on their stomach. The best visual of this series so far was that image of Dr. Bailey cutting into that tattoo. Wow.

This is a two part episode, where Seth Green may die because Lexie made him laugh, I can't wait till next week.

Heroes, finally getting good.

As I have previously stated, Veronica Mars is considered by me to be one of the best 5 shows ever to appear on television. One of the reasons for its awesomeness lies in Kristen Bell, and her portrayal of the titular character. As incredible as Miss Bell was in Veronica Mars, I believe her bat shit crazy playing of Elle in Heroes is even more amazing.

The way she blew West out of the sky, wow, great shot Elle.

Here is the thing with Heroes, the beginning of the season plodded along so slowly, and was messed around so much, because there were too many new people, and they just didn't have time, and blah blah blah. Lots of media types have commented on this, so I will not go back into it.

There were some big reveals last night, first off, the "duh" moment of Adam/Kensei being the one who killed Sulu, that made sense, people have predicted that for a while, and it was nice to see it.

I also liked the definition given to Claire's power, and Kensei's, that, at some point, she will just stop aging. The power of God's is right.

I am, all in all though, upset with the show and how it just LOVES blood. Kensei's blood, Claire's blood, Mohinder's blood, I understand the subtext that Blood is life, and all that stuff, but, honestly, let's get some better writing, or better twists. Jesus. I do like that blood brings people back from the dead, I am hoping and praying that DL and Linderman are gonna get some blood work soon.

I am looking greatly forward to next week, when Hiro takes a sword to Peter's neck. Should be awesome.

Bat Shit Crazy

First off, the above is my favorite new phrase, honestly, use it in everyday life, trust me.

Today, we will use it to describe the bat shit crazy Dr. Sydney who went on a fake (or was it real?) date with Dr. Shepard. That girl, wow, way too happy all the time. This show has such well written strong females, such as, Dr. Hahn. I can't get over her, what a great replacement for that shitty Addison, who is on a show I have now given up on, Private Practice.

The bus tragedy was interesting, in that, when a bus got tossed off the road in Veronica Mars, my third favorite show of all time, it was a season long mystery, here, Grey's makes it a one night in the ER type of fun time.

I will take an aside to describe my top five shows of all time, this list can always change, but I doubt it:
1. Star Trek: DS9
2. Buffy: The Vampire Slayer
3. Veronica Mars
4. The Amazing Race
5. Battlestar: Galactica

This list is perfect, and do not try to dispute it!

Speaking of Buffy, Principal Green guest starred today, and Miranda was checking him all sorts of out. Not only was that sort of joking, but, really, the whole thing was kind of fun fun joking. I don't know, early on, weird. I don't like Miranda ever looking weak, especially because of a man that is not her husband, and especially because i do not like her being all giggly.

Thatcher Grey apologized to McBitchy, in a drunken stupor. It is good to find out where McBitchy gets her propensity for the booze, however, she seems like she can handle her booze better than that.

I honestly could care less about George and Izzie. Really, they are ridiculous. I mean, if George can't get excited to have great sex with her, seriously. I really feel bad for the actress who plays Izzie, she never gets a chance, in any project to dating an attractive person at all. One of the reasons I do not buy her and George is because she is 10 levels above him on the "dating level" chart. It is sad.

I have to say, I don't know who the nurse from OR 2 is, but I like her. She's the right kind of sass, seemingly age appropriate for McDreamy, and, unlike perky doctor, actually seems like she could be real competition for McBitchy, her name is ROSE! I already love her.

I am glad that Lexie stood up to Meredith, that was awesome, way to call McBitchy on her McShit. What the fuck was that hyperventilating shit? She was pretentious to her sister, tried to be all caring and condescending about it, and Lexie called her on it. All in all, it was awesome. More people should tell her where to go. ps - Kerev rocks, again, and Bailey was great in the end, god, I love her.

The music on this show continues to be very good too, always appropriate and top notch. But the band stuff, I don't know about that stuff at all, I mean, in my high school, they were sort of cool, much cooler than the book nerd that I was. They went on trips, and got a lot of play with each other. Honestly, they might not have been the coolest group, but they were certainly cooler than me, and my group.

I feel it important to mention that the writers strike, will, in all probability, negatively cause problems for this blog. I will continue to update it as in frequently as I do now, even after we run out of new shows to watch. The good news is, we should have lots of reality t.v. to complain about it, which will be great. Also, in February, Battlestar Comes back, perhaps McBitchy will be revealed as the 12th Cylon.

I don't, I don't care, that she hates apples.

I apologize, so much, for not updating till now.

But wow, Kerev, he is so fucking great. Telling McBitchy off when she was down right terrible to the Sexy Lexie, that was so great. Here is the thing, I understand that Lexie is sleeping with Kerev, but she is totally innocent. All she knew was that McBitchy and Kerev were friends, she did not know, at all, that they lived together.

Meredith is just, I mean, she isn't even constructively mean about it, she is just awful to her, and her heartfelt speech to that guy who was losing his wife, god, that's shit.

I have to say, good think Torres got the boot, Bailey has been carrying her ass since the season premiere, just totally carrying her, and she deserves that job.

Sorry, not much else happened, and, really, Meredith just needs to stop with the hating.

God I love Lexie Grey, she needs a spinoff.

Thursday, October 25, 2007

Because she's been sleeping with my husband!

God, what a great show.

First off, within the first 2 minutes we get Meredith saying the title quote to this blog, TWICE. Then, we get Callie O'Malley, saying the above statement, about Izzie, to Izzie, in front of everyone. THEN, we get Sexy Lexie, in costume, AND pigtails, all before the opening credits. The night can only go well after this.

Ok, so, I can't hate Meredith for working her ass off to try to get that kid ears, honestly, I am getting mad at this redemption thing. I want to hate Meredith, they are making it hard. I can hate her for her little "I Need" speech she gave to Yang. Guess what McBitchy, no one cares what you need. She actually listened to Lexie, which was different, and fun. But, COME ON, I don't care how you spin it, she washed her mother down the drain. I watched her do it, on national television, Meredith Grey washed her mother down the drain. Terrible.

Karev got him some Eva action, that was great, really it was. I like her, I like Karev with her, I like Karev, he should have a spin off, like Callie should, and NOT like Addison should. Morals are very loose on this show. Eva is cheating on her husband, George, Addison, cheaters. Meredith, sort of easy, again, like George. Yang sleeps with her superiors, and, hell, only Izzie is any sort of chaste, cept for the whole George thing.

Dr. Bailey's breakdown on the bench, wow. This woman can act, she is completely great, she gets the good lines, no question, but god, she is good..

Dr. Sydney was back, as was nurse Olivia, which is nice. I feel like all the females on this show, save Callie, that I like, are guest stars and not on a lot. Grey's should do a Lower Decks type episode, of just those people, and maybe Meredith could die again in it.

Oh yes, and Dr. Hahn showed up, and knocked Yang down a few pegs, that was nice.

I don't do that stuff, but my best friend has Gonorrhea AND is pregnant!

Before I begin, I should note, and McFiance would agree, that I am the worst speller ever, yet somehow I spelled Gonorrhea correctly in the title, the first time. I don't know what this says about me, and the generation in which I grew up.....anyway.......

I cannot properly put into words just how terrible Private Practice truly is, and how it makes no sense from any practical level, at all. Sadly, it got a full season order this past week, which means we have it polluting our airwaves until at least May, 2008. If a presidential candidate would campaign on dropping this piece of turd off of ABC, he or she would get my vote in the Iowa caucuses, I swear.

Last night, as with every week, a big emergency popped up, and, so, everyone involved had to LEAVE their private practices, and go to the HOSPITALS where the real doctors with real coats actually work.

That terrible plot device aside, I was sort of taken aback by the gimmicky "young boy does Paps" gag, which, it is an office, why the slapstick. Also, the dialog is so stilted, and awkward at times. I like shows that have natural awkwardness, like The Office, but this show, GOD, terrible. Pushing Daisies, however, continues to please, and last nice, poor Olive, poor poor Olive, did right in the end, and still didn't get her piemaker. The piemaker loves Chuck, Chuck perhaps, loves the piemaker, and no one, no one is left to love Olive. I hope Chuck at least makes efforts to unite Olive and the piemaker, after all, Olive is showing a lot of compassion, despite how it was initially poorly placed to Chuck's aunts.

This show has such an interesting concept, and, while I worry of it tiring if Chuck and the piemaker can never touch, it is, so far, the best new thing on tv. At least, that is the story so far....

Kid Nation is good stuff. The kids are about half way through their time in Bonanza City, and, so far, only a few have dropped out. I do not get Taylor, at all. I mean, I know she is getting a terrible edit, but still, even bad edit complaints aside, she looks SO bad. I realize 11 year olds don't have a concept as to how bratty they will look on television, but, man, you'd think a beauty queen, who doesn't do dishes, would.

I also found it interesting to see Guylan start to fold under the yolk of leadership. It didn't take long for him to realize why Mike yelled so much, after all, his team, barely listens.

Finally, Bionic Woman was also on last night, and, sadly, I am starting to see what the critics see, and can, perhaps, start to call this show bad. The concept is great, but, I don't know, I feel like Chuck is more Alias like than Bionic Woman is, and, I was sort of pissed that they went to the whole "fake a british accent from a british actress" so early in the show. I get it, its cute, she REALLY is english, so she's been faking american this whole time. But, awful. Isaiah Washington at least brings some measure of good acting to the show.

This show needs more Starbuck, otherwise, it will blow.

Ratings Round Up: Pushing Daises, sadly, lost almost 14% in the key demo, while, in that same demo, Bionic Woman only lost 2.94%. Private Practice, which is terrible, gained 2.27% in the ratings, and Kid Nation, amazingly enough, went up 8.33% in the key demo. There will be a Kid Nation 2 folks, the ratings are too damn good.

The Amazing Race is back a week from Sunday. I am giddy!

Tuesday, October 23, 2007

When there is no cheerleader, I don't know what to do.

So, I don't know what to think about Heroes this year. The pacing has been slow, and I talked to a friend about this, who, apparently enjoys a good slow pace, but still, it is maddening to me. They are introducing new characters, all with connections to old ones, and, in doing so, they are certainly making things interesting, but, still, I am a bit maddened.

For instance, is there really a disease Mohinder is fighting? If so, why no mention in three weeks?
What the hell is Matt's Dad's power? Mind reading? Mind attack? Mind Manipulation?
Where the hell was Claire at last night? I actually like her and West's storyline quite a bit, even though HRG is freaking me out a bit.

Here is the problem with all the new characters, in bringing them out, we do not have near enough time or space to actually get anywhere with the old ones. Even more than last year, more and more characters are taking entire weeks off, and while that is fine every now and then, especially in a show with SUCH a huge cast, it bothers me a bit in this one.

Having said that, bring on Kristen Bell. She plays Elle, aka Electrogirl, and looks awesome, if not a little crazy/neurotic. She's a new character I can live with.

In other show news, Chuck was again Chuck, and is funny, but I cannot see it going anywhere. Sadly, I already grow weary of it, and, people are somewhat agreeing with me as it lost 12% of its audience from last week, without baseball being on.

Journeyman, on the other hand, is actually getting better, with more ties to the lead characters father being introduced, and, the new aspect of physicist who seems to know a lot more about the time travel than anyone, I actually am becoming intrigued by this show. Sadly, it lost 11% of its audience from last week, so, that is scaring me.

Samantha Who? is going to be a good show, if they stick to the pilot formula a bit more. I want to see longer flashbacks of Bad Samantha, and hope we see less of the fish out of water stuff we saw this week, and more of the her adjusted, but remembering how terrible she was, that would be great. Samantha lost a scant 5% of households, but gained in the key demographic, so, I am hopeful for a full season.

Starting a week from Sunday? THE AMAZING RACE comes back to the airwaves. Be ready for this, the greatest reality competition series, EVER! McFiance and I actually tried out for this show once, and sadly, didn't even get called back. Maybe someday!

The sad sad tale of Callie O'Malley.

Well, first off, McBitchy was more McJealous than anything last night. I try to find things to hate her for, and, well, she was going to take the bullet for Richard Gilmore, aka, the world's oldest intern, so that was admirable. She was a bit jealous/weirded out by McDreamy talking to Sexy Lexie, but, nothing out of the ordinary, because, I would be weirded out in that situation, especially with Yang getting all up in my face about it.

Kerev was great last night, he usually is, but he is so pointed, and usually dead on right. McFiance and I were both struck at his "I'm embarrassed for you" remark, and really, I think we all are. I wonder if the writers secretly hate Katherine Heigl, because man, they are making her very tough to like this year.

Callie O'Malley on the other hand, whoa, that girl needs HER own series, because she is great, and certainly better than Kate Walsh. The measured way in which she spoke to Izzie, her breakdown with the jerkiest boyfriend of all time, her over all being distraught over trying to deal with George, while, at the same time, not really forgiving him, and sort of blaming herself. This was her supporting actress Emmy episode, and I really hope she wins for it. Good for her.

That's all I got this week. No real plot progression, for anyone, except for Yang being all nasty to the Lexinator, and said Lexie growing a spine.

Both of which were nice.

Hospitals are terrible to people, and why is Taye Diggs on this crap?

I don't have much to say about Private Practice this week. The show is well cast, but terribly written and even more terribly acted. I do not understand why anyone in the world thought it was a good idea to give Kate Walsh her own spin off, and then cast better people than her in it. Between Amy, Taye and Superman/Doctor Tim Daly they are just all bigger, better names then she is, and it really points out how terrible an actress she is.

Also, the plot this week, I mean, I am glad that Addison ended up being right, but why the made up rivalry between her and her friend, and, does Addison like Taye? I can't tell. Also, she acted like a crazy woman with people not RSVP'ing to her party. I have had new years party's and cook outs, I have used evite, and people are just being lazy. I am also getting married next year to McFiance, and I presume that some people will not RSVP and still come, there is no need to just go off on people about it. What a nut job. Speaking of Nut Jobs, her patient wasn't crazy, had a real disease, and now, can get better and have her baby, sweet.

Pushing Daises
continues to be the most interesting show on television, however, the narration and constant going over about how Ned's power works is getting a tad old. We get it, Touch Them Once....Alive. Touch Them Twice.... Dead Forever. I did LOVE the firefly parts at the beginning that showed him experimenting and getting down exactly how his power works, that was pretty cool shit.

Now, onto KID NATION, which, what a great show. I love little kids doing fake shots, and having fake elections, and actually being destructive toward one another. Tonight, with the fake elections, Taylor, the child beauty queen, who's parents honestly have to be CRINGING at home everytime she says "deal with it" was the least pleased with elections, and almost pulled them off, almost. She actually said during the show that "Love me or Hate me I don't back down from a fight." I do not believe that to be true, I think that if someone actually got in her face about anything, she would absolutely back down.

By a vote of 5-4 she was evicted (sorry, wrong show) she was voted off the counsel, and replaced by Zach. More surprising than Zach's close win, was Michael's blow out loss. The poor kid, whom I admit I don't like very much, only got one vote! He is a bit bossy, but, at least he worked hard, unlike Princess Taylor. If there is a single person on reality television that has a greater capacity than Taylor to grow up to be a real life Meredith Grey, I have yet to see her. Moral of the story, if any of you out there actually liked Taylor, she's gone, DEAL WITH IT!

Oddly, given the choice between a BBQ and Meat, vs Dental Care products, the town counsel took Dental Care. I mean, if you're out there for a year, I can see wanting toothpaste, but hell, they are only gone 40 days, TOPS, and you already gave up pizza for the betterment of all, so, for once, take the meat! Then, no more chickens have to die!

Finally, Bionic Woman was also on last night. This show is great. I have a lot of friends who disagree with that statement, but I like it quite a bit. Last night, Jamie started the show be running, very ALIAS like down a dark alley, to find her sister making out with a boy in the back seat of a car with a boy, whom apparently thought she was 18, when she really is 15 in show years. (Who hasn't made that mistake? right guys?)

Honestly though, this is my problem with television shows, none of them since Once and Again have actually cast real teenagers in real parts of the same age. Lucy Hale, who plays the part is really 18 in actual life, so, I mean, she COULD pass. Isaiah Washington was a total bad ass this episode, not as cool as Katee Sackhoff, but cool. Also, why in the world is the Bionic Woman afraid of anything? Even flying? I mean shit. She is tough as hell.

In the ratings round up of all of these new shows, Private Practice lost 8% of its audience, thank god, now just 92% more. Sadly, Bionic Woman also lost 10% of those who watched the week before. Pushing Daises remained even, THANK GOD, and Kid Nation gained 14% from the week before, there will SO be a season 2 of this show.

And, finally, Grey's is on tonight, but, I again have obligations, so, the McBitchy tally count will have to come a bit late.

Monday Round Up, or How Christina Applegate can play the most likeable bitch....ever

Well folks, we have a new good show on the television, and its Samantha Who?

It is good for a whole host of reasons. First, it has a lead character who used to be a terrible human being (unlike Grey's, whose titular character is still a terrible human being). Second, it utilizes flashbacks in a constructive way to push forward the narrative of the story. Much like season one of Veronica Mars did so well. It was just interesting to watch how nervous everyone was around Samantha, at least right away, so I want to see more, just to see if that keeps up, if she will regress, if she will be better, and what not. I hope she does not stay with her parents long, if anything, I want to see more Barry Watson, whom does not have enough work since 7th Heaven ended, and What About Brian was canceled. (Side note, remember the first 8 episodes of what about brian? They were amazing, its a shame that show went to shit shortly thereafter).

It also had a very very good debut in the ratings, with a 10.2/15 rating, despite going up against Heroes. Christina Applegate really is good in everything she is in, and the cast, well, just watch it next week, its great.

Speaking of... Heroes was great last night. I am actually starting to like West, our junior flying man, quite a bit. I loved a lot of Micah last night, and whoa, Monica Dawson, his cousin, great. I love when we get powers that get very little attention in comic books, but are still cool nonetheless. Photographic Reflexes, what an interesting power. I hope they find really great ways to use it. Sylar was back last night, apparently accepting the fact that he cannot access his powers, and going on the journey with the wonder twins, who still can kill people.

Journeyman held solid in the ratings with a great episode last night, but nothing, nothing prepared me for the awesomeness of CHUCK last night. Not only did it have a hefty ratings increase, but the show is funny, AND good. I hope they bring on more team ups with the shady DEA agent, cause that, would be fun. I also find myself thinking "I wonder if the CIA and FBI really hate each other this much?" with every episode.

So, I guess she can be nice when she wants to be.

So, I knew that scene at the end was coming. I knew Meredith was going to talk to Lexie about how her mom died, and I was so waiting for Meredith to be all holier than thou about the whole thing. Sadly, she wasn't. She was professional, she was caring, and she was even honest about being fond of Lexie's mother. Hell, Meredith was even somewhat nice to Chang last night, who, mind you, was stealing all of her surgeries.

I am troubled by the direction that Izzie is going this season. She is sort of pathetic. Like, honestly, she's a resident? Thank god I have not seen her do one surgery this year so far, because her, with a knife, freaky. I still am sort of pissed that they ever let her back in the intern program after she killed Denny, and poor George has to repeat his intern year. But, the whole Izzie/George thing has already worn thin with me. I don't want them together, because, I don't think he really loves Izzie. I think he likes the idea of being with Izzie, but he loves Callie, married Callie, and Callie clearly loves him. I was never a Callie fan early on in this show, but man, she's been great this season, and Izzie, just sort of a slapstick joke.

Kerev was back in fine form last night, being a good doctor, and being a great jerk. The scene where he outed George for being a repeater was interesting. First off, because Daddy Gilmore Intern hated him for it. Secondly, because, and I believe this, Lexie was put off, yet, turned on by it, and finally, because George's downward spiral continued. Make no mistake I don't feel 'bad' for George. He is making a lot of bad choices in this whole thing, but, he started being honest last night. He had a day that just wore him down, and, at the end of it, he was honest with is wife, so, that was at least something.

Next Week - Meredith gets jealous over Derek talking to Lexie. God this show is like high school...seriously.

The Italian Banker did what with the Bionic Woman?

Dirty Sexy Money is quickly becoming a favorite of mine, if, for no other reason, than it is just bad to like it so much. It isn't like, 90210, guilty pleasure bad, but god, its something to see.

Great cast, good writing, shot very well, and, for instance, last night. I don't know what is smarter, naming an episode of your network television show after a sexual position, or, making up the name of the sexual position in order to have it get past the network censors. Either / Or I am ok with it.

If anyone out there has any idea what the titular sexual position "The Italian Banker" would look like, please post below.

Also great last night, Bionic Woman. I know, I love this show too much, as it is fairly campy, and, not terribly well acted, but Isaiah Washington is great, and, the lead actress is really really growing on me.

Sadly, ratings are starting to show their ugly head. Bionic Woman lost 5% of its audience from the week before, and Dirty Sexy Money lost only a little less than 3%. Sadly, somehow, the shit ball that is Private Practice is actually GAINING in popularity, up 6.67%. As big of a tragedy as that is, Pushing Daisies the BEST new show of the fall, lost a bit over 16% of its audience from the week before. Let's hope that trend ends right now.

The Grey's blog will be a bit late this evening, as McFiance and I have evening plans, so, check back well after the show airs.

She wanted some magic, but her who ha was broken.

What a piece of shit show. God I hate private practice. The only reason I watch this steaming pile of shit is because, just in case someone I know watches it, and likes it, I can berate them for it and not feel, at all, bad about it.

I swear, if Bionic Woman gets cancelled before this, I will kill people.

Anyway, tonight, the main plot involving our Girl Addison, formerly of Grey's is that a woman (oddly, the actress who played Ellie on the West Wing) who waited till her wedding night to "go all the way" finds out she cannot because of, what appears to be, clinical fridgidity. That actress, by the way, played, like, a 40 year old in The American President, so, I consider her to be a good actress, she just decided to guest star on crap t.v.

Taye had a very very brief role tonight, but he and his ex wife actually TALKED about their daughter, which is really good, because I thought she was getting the "little sister in family matters" treatment.

For those of you who don't know, Jamie Foxworthy played little sister Judy Winslow for like 5 seasons on Family Matters, and then, vanished. No explanation, just gone. Given the names of the movies she did on the imdb, I think she may have done soft porn.

Oh, and, apparently, to solve the great "unable to have sex mystery" Addison and Tim Daly, aka, Superman, had to work together. She had to go ask him for his thing. AWKWARD.

Sigh, at least Pushing Daises, also an ABC product, is AMAZING. Honestly, watch this show, I cannot stress how great it is enough.

Greys Tommorrow!

She just gets worse, and worse, and worse.

I will confess something. I made last nights post, before the episode ended. I was watching with McFiance, and was giving too much time to my computer, and not enough time to her, and so I put the computer away.

Then, Meredith got worse. First, she just flat out lied. "I am normally a really nice person." She says to Lexie. Well, no, no she isn't, as Dr. Burke's mother so fantastically pointed out, she is a fairly terrible person, and has little to no redeeming qualities.

I really felt for McDreamy in the end. Yeah, it was bad for McSteamy to lie to Meredith, but, he was doing it for the right reasons, to help Derek, because, as the McBitchy voice-over pointed out, addiction is a bad thing, and Derek is, clearly, addicted to Meredith, in a fairly bad way. What's worse is, she knows it, she knows he is, and she knows how he feels. Remember the point in his life when he found Meredith, his wife was cheating on him, he found this fun girl full of life, and he fell for her, hard. He had second thoughts, tried to make it work with his wife, and realized that Meredith was for him. He then went back to her, and fought to get her from McVet, and won. Now, she is just using him, and what's worse she is blaming it all on her dad.

I do not excuse her father for leaving her, and for going off with Lexie's mom. However, Meredith's mom was sleeping with the Chief. Not only that, she was cold, and a total career woman. Here is my problem with Meredith, she is pushing away other people, not because of what her Dad did to her, leaving, when she was young. She is pushing people away because she is JUST like her mother. She is focused on herself, and not on caring for others. She it taking it out on poor Lexie, who, admittedly, looks to be half the Doctor Meredith is, but she is taking it out on Lexie, who turned out to be, so far, a fairly nice and normal young woman. Meredith isn't cold, and untrusting, and selfish because of what her dad did to her, she is that way because of how her mother raised her. Hopefully that will be explored a bit more, who knows.

Until then, the Office was pretty funny last night, and I am being drawn back into Smallville, oh how great Supergirl is.

Were you being inappropriate, or were you being selfish?

I have to say, before tonight, I never really had any strong feelings, one way or the other, for Dr. Burke's mom. But tonight, wow, she was great. She made the titular quote of this blog entry, to Meredith's face, about Meredith.

The answer, of course, is that McBitchy was doing both.

Other McBitchy moments? Her acting jealous when Kerev checked out Sexy Lexie.

Tonight, the show became slapstick central, with Lexie and Izzie both spilling shit, and doing a poor job of it. Sigh.

Meredith actually did go the clinic, without arguing, really, so that was a nice change of character, but, when she got there she had to work with intern Lexie, and, well, that made her uncomfortable. So far Lexie seems super nice, and i do not know why she would not be loved by all, she is awesome, after all.

In other news, Kerev got punched, and Izzie and Callie bonded a bit, even though Izzie wants George, and Callie totally knows whats up.

I will post more tommorrow, this show is really starting to suck this year.

Wednesday Night Round Up

Good morning all. Well, we had another Wednesday come and go, and, there was a lot of good T.V. on last night, and, sadly, some really crappy shows as well.

To begin, I think that Bionic Woman is really an amazing piece of work. It is going to have a great internal mythology, a lot of mystery, and solid acting. Isiah Washington, formerly of Grey's Anatomy, was pretty damn great last night, and I look forward to see more of him. One thing that really struck me though was the sudden death of the doctor who made Jamie our new little Bionic dynamo.

I know that he was shot last week, but, somehow, I thought that he would pull through. I mean if his company can make Jamie the Bionic Woman, why on earth can't they fix his gun shot wound? Did Chris Bowers get better work? Anybody know?

Not surprisingly, Private Practice was terrible. I feel like actress Kate Walsh must know that the show is just not any good, and is therefore over acting, to make it worse, so she can go back to Grey's in a bit part, in order to share screen time with McBitchy. Even McFiance stated, after watching "I'll give it one more episode". She LOVES Grey's (as do I, I just hate the main character), so her not liking it, that has to be trouble for producers. The only two cast members I can tolerate are Tim Daly, and Taye Diggs, not only because they are awesome, but, because they at least seem to be acting well, given the crap they have to say. But even then, it still had problems, big ones. I mean, any time there is a major emergency on the show, they call an ambulance. It happened last week, and this week, Taye did the same thing. Perhaps they just want us to make sure we know that they have a co-op clinic, although, the feel good group meetings at the beginning of the show certainly bash us over the head with that concept. Or maybe they just want to give more screen time to the Chief of Medicine at St. Anthony's, which is possible, given the fact that she is the only likable female character on the show.

This crap will not make it past 13 episodes, trust me.

Pushing Daisies was fairly unreal on every level. I was expecting it to be a bit more noir than it was. I totally did not expect the "Big Fish" feel to it. Also, I had no clue that Kristen Chenowith, formerly of The West Wing, and Wicked was in it. I don't know how to describe it, other than cheesy, surreal, odd, fun, and amazing. It is completely a show you have to watch to understand it, and one, I think, that you will have to see from the beginning to appreciate. I am big fan of the creator, Bryan Fuller, who got his start on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, as a writer. And has been involved with, or created, some amazing shows. I also deeply enjoyed Wonderfalls, despite its short tenure, and this show, definitely has that sort of cooky feel to it. Watch it, it is great.

Finally, I have to give a shout out today to South Park from last night. Wow. That show continues to amaze me. Not only do they get away with murder because of their format, but, the show REALLY knows itself so well. I will not get the quote right, but when Cartman says to Kyle, "I can go on t.v., and let the jews really have it, and people won't say anything, they will call me brilliant, I might win an emmy." I mean, not only does this come a week after South Park won another Emmy, but honestly, that is what South Park has done. They pick any group, say horrible things about them, and win Emmy's, because it is called brilliant. I don't know how they do it, but I am amazed.

The Morning After Edition

So, I have had a good 12 hours at this point to collect my thoughts on last nights episode, and try, my best, to boil down McBitchy, and how she behaved last night.

I can honestly understand how she would be confused at the beginning of this episode. She grew up with no relationship with her father, and he has this whole other family, and she never knew them, and they never knew her, and all she had was her mom. Her mom suffers from a terrible illness, and she was there to care for her, when no one else was. That is hard. Then, upbeat, and adorable, Lexie shows up, and McDreamy does clearly make eyes at Lexie in an effort to at least make Meredith a bit jealous. I get that, I get all of that, but, it still doesn't justify Meredith going all silent on her.

I was also willing to admit that after the scene with George and Lexie, that Meredith's look could be read two ways, but, there is absolutely no excuse for whiny comment number 1 "I'm the girl from the bar." and the silent walk away in the end.

Lexie, twice, twice tried to reach out to her at the hospital. The first time, was a clear emergency situation, so I cannot fault Meredith for focusing on her work, but the second time, Meredith did not just walk away without saying a word, instead, she walked away, with McDreamy, to be both territorial, needlessly cold. Why not say "Lexie, I know you wan to talk, and I want to as well, but I just can't yet." Or "Lexie, I have McDreamy issues to deal with." Instead, she walks off and says nothing, to go and have breakup sex with McDreamy.

Side note, do all hospitals seemingly have this much sex in the workplace? I mean for reals, I have a sister who is an ER nurse, and I don't think she has experienced anything like the constant hook ups that are this show. Like, WHOA.

So, I will write what I believe about Meredith Grey, when given two choices, one, being the hard but right one, and the other, being the easy, instantly gratifying one, she always takes choice B.

Always.

Thank god Dr. Who is on tonight, we get to see more of The Master.

Grey's Anatomy Premiere - Meredith, actually kind of nice, I am worried.

Well, the first episode is upon us, and, well, Meredith is already in McBitchy mode.

Her first comment about her sister, who, by the way, has a mom who died because of recommendations Meredith made, anyway her first comment about her sister was "The Doey Eyed One". She then proceeded to get all snippy with George who should have told her immediately about her sister being there. Lexie, played by Chyler Leigh, is very pleasant, if not a little over excited.

Anyway, back to McBitchy, who, upon finding out that Derek and Lexie have met, says, and I am not kidding "I'm the girl from the Bar" and then storms off.

Meredith is not totally terrible this episode, she does attempt to comfort a possible amputee in this thing, and really does a good job cleaning up her unattached arm, and being very compassionate to the woman who is getting her arm back.

So, score for the episode is two McBitchy moments, and one extended compassionate exchange with a potential amputee.

In other news this episode, Izzie decides to try to save a deer, which, honestly, what? What is this show? Is Izzie going to get a spinoff? Will she become a vet? (because really, she shouldn't be a doctor anymore after killing Denny) Will Finn be in it? Who knows!

Yang also seems to be doing well. I actually like her character quite a bit, she has gone through real growth, and, really, she is pretty great. She also seemed very crushed that Burke quit without telling her. Great scene, shot well.

But, overall, I am really upset that there is not more to hate in this episode. Izzie is good, and George is fairly great. He delivers a baby, during a surgery, and has some good talking with Lexie, it was unreal.

George had it best at the end, in regards to Lexie Grey, he said "You, are kind of awesome." In true Han Solo fashion, she said "I know."

Meredith looked on, with a mean face. It could have been a "searching to find common ground with a sister I don't know face". But, I am biased, and prefer to think it was mean.

Oh, one more thing, at the very end, Lexie was trying to be nice, and wanted to talk to Meredith, and, without saying a word, Meredith walked off with McDreamy, to dump him, then, they had break up sex. And George showed up on Izzie's door, and told her he loved her too.

Bad George, Bad.

I now have to watch the Office on DVR, I hope its better than this.

Private Practice - The First Episode - Live Blogging

Well, for the first "real" blog of this fun little hobby we will be live blogging.

I am watching the premiere of Private Practive with my McFiance.

8:01 - Open, shot of Seattle Grace, we get to see the Old Chief! That is nice to see. He is talking about his Addison, and, as "his Addison" explains her reasons for leaving, we get a brief intro to all the new characters, in which is sure to be a crappy spinoff. She talks about dancing naked, that makes it a tad more interesting.

Why does she need his blessing? And why would he keep her job opening, OH, I KNOW WHY, because this show is going to suck, and will get cancelled, and Kate Walsh is going to want to keep cashing her fat ABC pay checks.

8:03 - Addison is dancing naked in her apartment, and guess who sees her? Taye Diggs, and, since he is married to Idina Menzel in real life, we know he is into white women, so, Addison better watch out.

8:04 - PIZ! Or, rather Chris Lowell, formerly of Veronica Mars shows up, don't know his deal, apparently, hot male receptionist. I hope Taye kicks his ass.

8:05 - Judging Amy is on this show too? Shit, it has a good cast, at least, but honestly, I don't know what they will all do. Tim Daly, also known as Superman (from the Animated series) is on this show too.

8:06 - I think Naomi has been recast since the backdoor pilot last season. McFiance insists that I am wrong. Wikipedia insists that I am correct, and that Merrin Dungey, formerly of Alias fame has been recast by a 4 time tony award winner. Good for stage actors.

8:09 - Old man having a a stroke in the lobby, and, oddly enough, they take him to an ER. I mean for real? A place full of Doctors, and they take him to an ER? And he dies! Backup story here, apparently, he and his wife wanted to have a baby, and he was coming to see Addison et al to make a "delivery" in their sperm bank. Right after death, his wife demands his sperm, and Taye freaks out.

Commercial Break - During the Break McFiance informed that I missed the key plot point of Piz wanting to become a midwife. Wouldn't that be a midhusband? or his midwife a gender neutral term like Flight Attendant or Dental Hygenist?

8:15 - Commerical over, we get the cast list, Kate walsh has top billing, Tim Daly second, then bunch of people I don't know, "with" Taye Diggs, "and" Judging Amy. A whole conversation about use of the term "mamma" is going on. I mean, is AC Slater on this show? What the hell?

8:16 - Apparently Piz has a name on this show, it is Dell. Hmmmm, don't know that I like it. Taye is back at the hospital! Apparently, the dead guy wasn't married to the woman who wants his sperm, and Taye is gonna fight the female ER doc for them.

8:18 - Tim Daly is now talking to Addison and thinks she moved there because he kissed her. Honestly, this is bad writing, no person would really think that. Seriously, who thinks like that? And Addison is honestly giving him a response, like, kind of flirting with him, just encouraging his delusion. Real adults do not interact like this.

8:19 - Naomi is now at the hospital, trying to get dead guys sperm, ER doc, again, doing the right thing, and not letting him.

8:20 - Piz or Dell refers to his midwifery skills, and whether or not it is an actual word is questioned by Addison and McFiance, having said that, Blogger spell check didn't say I misspelled it, so it must be a word.

8:21 - Judge Amy walks in on an odd woman taping her ears and counting tiles. Ok, way too much is going on in this first episode, in order to give each star their own little plot, it will get tiring.

Commercial again, Silver Surfer is coming out on DVD soon, sweet.

8:26 - Some store manager of the place that tile counting girl is at says "my sister has mental problems" which is why he didn't call the cops. Really sensitive there Paul, thank god Amy is there, and she has all the experience with troubled kids as a Juvenile Judge.

8:27 - Apparent teenage girl is giving birth to a baby, and Addison is telling here that despite screwing up, she gets a free pass in the birthing suite. My thoughts are her dad's insurance will not get a free pass, and that they will be paying for the costs of labor.

8:28 - Taye is getting his Sperm, but he and his ex have to perform the procedure, but then, dead guys WIFE shows up, and she says "no touchy" on his privates, or his seed. Switch back to Amy, who is down, on her knees, with odd tile counting woman.

8:30 - Piz wants to help give birth, but Addison hates male midwifes, so, he holds her hand, to help her along. Lucy, the pregnant teen, passes out, apparently congestive heart failure, and her dad says, as his daughter is dying "Her mom died in child birth". WOW, these people are idiots, not painting a good picture of California.

Commercial - Ok, I can already tell you there are WAY too many commercials, and EVERY TIME someone has a crisis at the clinic they just send them to the ER. Good to know good clinic care, is there for all of us, especially in our most populous state.

8:32 - Tim Daly states the obvious, girl and baby are gonna die before the ambulance gets there, and then, we see Amy back in the store, and, apparently this is somehow relevant. I like Amy quite a bit, but this seems pointless. Cooper, another doctor at the co op clinic is there to help her, and I cannot figure out what Cooper does.

8:35 - Dead guy/Sperm donor wife, really does not want to let her husband's lover get the sperm, the wife wants it for herself, and wants to leave Leslie out in the cold.

8:36 - In the birthing suite, Addison is going to perform a C Section, with no pain killers, and she is having a scene that no doubt will be submitted for her emmy nomination. Tim Daly, must be some sort of acupuncture person, because he says he can treat her without feeling any pain. She starts cutting, and then....commercial!

During the break McFiance informed me that 1) there has not yet been a cut, and 2) during the backdoor pilot last year, all of these people had their specialities talked about. Screw me for not remembering. She is also predicting that Amy and Cooper will hook up.

8:41 - The cut happens, no pain is felt! And then, Taye and his ex wife, the Tony Award Winner are trying to figure out who gets the sperm. Really? Shouldn't someone be harvesting it? I mean really? They are outside, and they are having a conversation about sperm that is really a talk about their marriage, and why it broke up.

8:43 - Amy is trying to figure out something in an ad that triggered tile counting woman to freak out. No clue, but it is a boy running through a field. Amy figures she had a son, who she lost somehow.

8:44 - Still sperm talk, and wife is willing to wait for a Judge and risk all sperm dying, rather than let the lover get it. There is way to much talking going on, and not near enough prostate milking going on. They should at least be harvesting and freezing you know?

8:45 - Baby born, mom in defib, and Addison is taking over, then Commercial!

McFiance asks the question "are we watching a premiere, or, a bunch of commercials?"

8:50 - Homestretch, Addison saved her, without us seeing any of it. I blame bad edits, and can't wait to see this on the 13 episode "complete series" because, let's be honest, this crap is NOT getting a full season. Dell/Piz is congratulated on good work, and Addison again brings up her kissing Tim Daly, and he gloats about it. Good for him, she has guy problems.

8:51 - Taye looks good, lover got the sperm, Taye is happy. Back in the store, Amy is trying to help the tile counter, and Cooper is a pediatrician! Finally! We found out! As it turns out, tile counting mom lost her son to cancer, in the brain, and mom chose to stop treatment. So, son died, mom blamed herself, and went nuts. Awwwwww, good to see everyone be happy in the end, and figure out all the problems as they cry about this poor kid dying from cancer. Mom stops being crazy, and is cured. Amy rocks.

8:55 - The harvest is going to take place for the sperm! Which is kind of gross, because this guy has been dead for like 50 minutes of show time, so, my guess is it is like at least a few hours of real time. Taye was going to watch the ex do the "procedure". Weird.

8:56 - Amy and Cooper are talking about stuff, and she stalks him in some weird way. I don't have that figured out.

8:57 - Addison and Taye's ex are having a heart to heart about her needing Addison there, to be her someone. Although, I could have sworn that she had a daughter in the backdoor pilot, but, so far, no mention of that kid. No doubt, she got written out like Laura's little sister on Family Matters, ouch. Kate Walsh, demands that she be allowed to stay, and looks really odd doing it, I mean, in real life, if that happened, everyone in the room would cringe, and not in an "Office cast cringing at Dwight" sort of way, but in a real sort of way. Kate Walsh is staying, she pulls the blinds at home, and dances, and Taye watches her.

Yuck.

Sadly, no one was anywhere near McBitchy tonight, which, is sad. However, in the previews for Grey's Anatomy tomorrow night, it seems as if Meredith is a bit jealous of her sister, and her sister is much nicer than she is.

Seriously

From sleeping with George, to picking McDreamy over Finn, from yelling at McDreamy for him trying to work it out with his wife, I find Meredith Grey to be a very flawed television character, and, well, kind of a bitch.

This blog, starting with the season premiere this year, will try to catalog her total bitchiness.

I will also try to talk about some other shows that I frequent, I envision 50/50 Grey's vs. Other Shows.

I am also hoping that in the Private Practice premiere tonight, we get references to Meredith's McBitchiness.
